Marc Asperas

Marc has over eighteen years in the patent field in both in-house and private practice. His practice involves the preparation of applications and prosecution of patents and also the exploitation of patents through portfolio segmentation, licensing and litigation. Marc has expertise in drafting applications, prosecuting cases in the electronic arts and is particularly experienced in telecommunications including mobile standards 3G and 4G, broadband communications including WLAN, computer and microprocessors, business and software methods, circuit logic, semiconductor materials and processing, and audio/video imaging, including MPEG compression.

Marc joined private practice in the early 90's where he learned the core disciplines of patent application writing and prosecution. He then left private practice to join the In-House profession where he expanded his practice to include portfolio exploitation, defensive patent litigation and enforcement of patents through licensing and litigation.

Marc graduated cum laude in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Computers from Northeastern University in Boston. After apprenticing as an Engineer at Grumman Aerospace, Marc then went on to earn his J.D. degree from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, N.Y. He is currently admitted to the NY bar and has most recently been indoctrinated as a Solicitor of England & Wales. He is authorized to practice before the United States, United Kingdom and European Patent Offices.
